TROODOS
A unique witness to the history of the earth is the
Troodos
Mountain range. It rose from the waters 25million
years ago and with its geological history the Troodos
is a unique illustrative example of the earth’s
genius. Today Troodos is considered to be the best preserved
and the most systematically studied ophiolite complex
in the world. Troodos is also well known for its magnificent
forests
of black pine which grow above an altitude of 1.200m
and cover a total of 4700 hectares. In lower levels
